Carnet de Passage

This has possibly been the most time consuming part of the process, so we thought we would share our experiences. First off, look at this RAC website to get all the info you need. The guy at RAC, Paul Gowan is incredibly helpful and the process with the RAC is very straightforward.

The problem arises when you go through the bank guarantee route…….We decided to do this – to save some pennies. You can get insurance which is more costly or you can stump up your own money but you could loose this if you can’t export your bike out of the country. However this saves time and is the most straightforward.  The whole process to get a bank guarantee took us possibly 3 months, this is because the banks hadn’t ever processed a bank guarantee for a carnet before.

I will write the rest of this bit later!…..
